Shirley Hau
Lower Elementary/General Education Teacher
Ms. Shirley is an experienced and dedicated educator with a rich background of knowledge and a deep passion for teaching. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education with a focus on English Language Arts from Hunter College and her Master’s degree in Literacy Education from NYU, where she received the Excellence in Service for Literacy-Early Childhood & Childhood Education award.
Her professional journey has been profoundly shaped by her experiences working in various educational settings, where she has honed her skills in serving a diverse population of learners, including neurodiverse students and English Language Learners.
She excels in building trusting relationships and providing differentiated support based on
best practices to ensure all learners have equitable access to grade-level content. Her commitment to education, innovative curricula, and equitable access motivates her to continually seek new ways to engage and inspire her students. These past experiences in both private and public settings leave Ms. Shirley excited for a classroom environment which fosters individual learning, for the benefit of each student and our community as a whole.
